Christ’s love compels us.

2 Corinthians 5:14

It’s time to “Fall for Jesus!”

As days grow shorter and colored leaves dot the landscape, cool, crisp mornings have a way of planting a new rhythm in our hearts. Adding an extra layer and easing into change brings fresh opportunities to embrace our higher calling.

Whether it’s taking a brisk walk in the autumn sunlight, savoring the Word on the page from a favorite chair, or slowly moving through a dark time, God’s faithfulness is abundant.

Being grounded in God’s Promises, in tune to the needs of those around us while capturing that one reassuring smile, word, or touch for ourselves, all are essential components to each day.

The poem below by Sister Teresa of Avila (1515-1582) is a cry for discipleship.

Christ Has No Body

“Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world,

Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,

Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.

Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,

Yours are the eyes, you are his body.

Christ has no body now but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world.

Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”

My friend, “Christ’s love compels us” (2 Corinthians 5:14) to be renewed by the Holy Spirit, and to look, listen, lift, and lead others with our hearts.

In this season ahead may we reflect, renew, and reclaim our lives in Him and for Him as we go forth to be Christ for one another.

Thank you, sweet friend, for being here.

Until next time…

May the Spirit of God lead you

The Word of God sustain you

And the Promises of God grant you the gift of everlasting peace.

With love and abundant blessings.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What are practical steps you can take to live as a “new creation” and an ambassador for Christ in your community?

  2. How does the reality of Christ’s sacrifice change your perspective on your own life and purpose?

  3. How can you live in a way that reflects that you no longer live for yourself, but for Him who died and was raised for you?
