Under His Watchful Eye

“I lift my eyes to the mountains–where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121: 1-2 (NIV)

I’m so glad you’re here!

It’s been a tough week, and I’m guessing you’ve had your moments, too.

Somehow, as believers we discover how to tackle the day to day by praying through personal challenges, but when something unexpected, and unthinkable occurs we are at a loss for words.

As any crisis unfolds, whether it be at home involving someone we love, or miles and miles away in the Holy Land, you and I are changed forever.

Trusting God is in charge, allows you and I to move forward in the Light of faith. Following the three steps below will help.

1. I cope through hope.

“I lift my eyes to the mountains– where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121: 1-2).

As God’s beloved daughter I pray without ceasing.

2. I seek His Wisdom and find rest in God’s holy presence.

“I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me” (Psalm 120: 1).

3. I thank God for his guidance and protection.

“He will not let your foot slip–he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you–the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more” (Psalm 121: 5-8).

Now, together, let’s pray:

Heavenly Father,

I praise you and thank you for your unending love, guidance, and protection over my life. For you alone are my Protector. Your plan never fails. When I am at a loss for words, you know them anyway. For you are the author of my life story.

I ask that you bring true peace and bless your people who are suffering with mercy, safety, and comfort in their time of need.

May the horrific devastation around us open the eyes of the lost so that they may come to you, Father, for the cries of pain, torture, and destruction are too much to bear.

When confusion strikes, when mourning comes, help your followers be a channel of your peace.

May your love penetrate the hearts of your people, so that they, too, may walk in your holy presence, and discover that You and You alone are life.

I ask this in your holy name.

Amen.

Thank you for journeying with me, and for all you do on God’s behalf to make a difference in the life of others.

Until next time…May the Spirit of God lead you, the Word of God sustain you, and the promises of God grant you the gift of everlasting peace.

Have a blessed day!

With love and prayers.
