“I will answer them before they even call to me.”

Isaiah 65: 24, NLT

Early this morning I sat on the couch holding a mug of freshly brewed coffee. Breathing in the aroma, feeling the sunlight upon my face, I listened to the soft tick of the clock blending in with the melody between the trees.

Oh, how I savor the silence to simply ‘be’ don’t you?

Welcoming the August air, I reflected back over the past few days with gratitude. Thankful for the sparks of love between the newlyweds we dined with, for the silent strength of our aunt doing her best to rally in a nursing home, for our daughter’s thoughtfulness, and for the hope, and relief of loved ones emerging from challenging times.

I began to think of how each encounter represented both sides of the spectrum, and everything in between.

I was struck with clarity as the Spirit showed me how the Lord’s Promises were weaved into each person’s unique circumstance. God’s faithfulness and goodness had blanketed them all.

Overflowing with joy for the newlyweds, I thumbed through scripture and reflected on two familiar verses often read at weddings.

“Love is patient, love is kind. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1Corinthians 13:4,13).

Faith

Believing and trusting God’s steadfastness as you embrace new beginnings or walk through the unknown.

“Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11: 1).

Hope

Hope that God will provide even when you are weak, or have no idea what may lie ahead.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength (Isaiah 40: 31).

Love

To love through all of life’s ups and downs. To love even when it appears you have lost everything, and must depend on others.

At the same time being “completely humble and gentle; to be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2).

All from above. Faith, hope, and love.

My friend, I am not sure what it is you need today, but I can point you to the One who does.

There’s one thing I know for sure. Our Almighty Father in Heaven is with you every moment of every single day. He hears your prayers of praise, grief, discouragement, and all that is held in the silence of your heart.

We serve an amazing God. The Lord knows exactly what you or I need, and says, “Before they call I will answer; when they are still speaking I will hear” (Isaiah 65: 24).

Let’s pray.

Father God,

Thank you for opening the eyes of my heart. Guide me to seek you, and discover peace and patience as I dwell in your Presence, and rest in your Word. Direct me to be a source of strength for others and recognize your love in my midst. I praise you and thank you for the hope, and healing that you alone can give. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen.

Thank you for walking with me, my friend.

Until next time…

May the Spirit of God lead you,

The Word of God sustain you, and

The promises of God grant you the gift of

everlasting peace.

Have a blessed and beautiful day!

With love and blessings.
