A Touch of the Miraculous

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a
sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be
a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Isaiah 58: 11(NIV)
Have you ever thought about how sharing your struggles, thoughts, and breakthroughs can help others experience the hand of God in their midst?
I don’t know about you, but God has opened my eyes to help me discover many powerful lessons about His presence in the most unlikely of places.
Several years back, I was in the checkout line at an unfamiliar grocery store when I ran into someone I used to work with. After a warm greeting and a dollop of small talk, within seconds I grasped the need in my colleague's voice to share the rollercoaster of emotions a difficult season had brought.
Hearing she had moved, lost her mom, and was now struggling with the aftermath of what major life transitions bring, I knew all too well the sadness, and pain of life changes. But as this beautiful woman spoke in her familiar soft, gentle voice I couldn’t help but notice that she wasn’t the same person I once knew.
Having switched roles no longer in the workplace, a deep vulnerability, which I had never seen before, was revealed. Composed while carefully choosing her words, she described the hard work of grief, but in such a way that conveyed a sense of deep solace and peace.
Taking her receipt with grace and gratitude, she turned her head and lifted her gaze for the first time. As her eyes locked mine, she said something I will never forget, “I am never alone, you know.”
And with a turn of her head she was gone.
Today as I recall this encounter, I can still see and feel the Love of Light in her eyes. I am grateful to have known her, and am so appreciative of the brief moment in time where the Spirit must have nudged her to share from the depths of her soul.
There comes a time when you and I realize there is no turning back. The blessed assurance I heard that afternoon was Divinely orchestrated to remind me that with God I have all I will ever need.
My dear friend, no matter where you find yourself, it is my hope and prayer that you know with all your heart, mind and soul that even in parched places God provides. “The Lord will guide you always, he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring” (Isaiah 58: 11).
Messengers of hope come in and out of our lives, and may only stay a short while, but when they do, the impact they deliver is a Touch of the Miraculous.
A touch from Heaven is a tremendous gift. What starts off as an ordinary conversation can shape and strengthen your faith in extraordinary ways.
The next time you are in the grocery aisle, at the gas pump, sitting with a stranger or loved one, listen to that still quiet whisper within. Act on that nudge. You never know how God will use you to bring His Light and Love to someone’s day.
Let’s pray.
Father God,
You have shown me a touch of Heaven is a tremendous gift. All I have to do is stop, reflect, and fix my eyes on You. I’ve discovered that faith is a love that grows. “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing the word of God” (Romans 10: 17), and through the messengers You send us.
Your Word reminds me that faith must be shared.
O’ God, thank you for walking with me, talking with me, and for the gift of your Spirit that nudges me to speak and draw others to You. I pray this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Thank you, sweet friend, for being a special part of the Faith First Women community.
Until next time…
May the Spirit of God lead you
The Word of God sustain you, and the
Promises of God grant you the gift of everlasting peace.
Amen.
Have a blessed and beautiful day!
With love and blessings.
